Introduction

 

Proposed Program Title: District of Columbia Public Library Street Youth Outreach Program. 

 

Target Audience:  Street youth, ages 13 to 18. 

 

Program Goals: 

Short-term:  Create daily readers among street youth in DC

Long-term:  Improve chances of street youth to get off the streets, find more stable environments, and become employable.

 

Program Objective:  Proactively bring quality young adult fiction and nonfiction to street youth by providing bookmobile service in the Southeast area of Washington, DC.
